12 o'clock blessing

this is where i count my blessings. it doesn't have to be a million dollar blessing. i just want to list down the blessings i receive everyday. this is a way for me to show myself how i am truly blessed.

surviving on food from nowhere:lelot

we had a very nice lelot last night. commonly known as congee. this is a simple congee made from what is left in our ref.

Lelot
1 cup glutinous rice
1/4 cup tablespoon chopped garlic
1 medium onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh ginger
1 stalk leek
6 cups soup stock
4 medium eggs
fish sauce
salt and pepper
spring onions, chopped

hard boil the eggs and set aside. toast half of the garlic then set aside.

saute the garlic in oil till brown. add the onions. add the chopped ginger. saute till the aroma of the ginger fills the air. add the leeks. add the glutinous rice. mix quickly as the glutinous rice may stick on to the pan. mix for about 1 minute. add soup stock. simmer till rice is very soft. add water if needed to keep from drying. add fish sauce, salt and pepper to taste.

drop the hard boiled eggs into the congee. serve very hot. top with toasted garlic and chopped spring onions.
